I choose to get out of bed and drink water today. Everything else is a bonus decision but I’m leaning toward practicing maximum enthusiasm!

It is really empowering to remind yourself that you choose how to act, what to say etc. Of course we are shifted and positioned by our genetic and environmental factors. However, we should never let that notion stop us from taking control of our lives

I like your point Kyle. I hope at some point you’ll help us determine how to prioritize and cull those things we get to do. They’re too damn many of them.

In retrospect, my comment seems a bit snarky. It wasn’t meant to be. You’re the poster child for managing priorities. A job a family with young kids a very active Substack, martial arts and God only knows what else.

Haha I don’t take anything you say as snarky. I’ll do my best

Shifting from “have” to “get” is such a game changer. Our language is such a critical piece to framing our perspective. Great post Kyle!

Awesome read, and well worth remembering for a long time. It's powerful to recognize the agency that you have over your world and your reality. People who've mastered it can master pretty damn near everything. Of course, it can also be very difficult.

Another great insight, Kyle.

Love this reframe from "I have to", to "I get to".

One feels entitled to a good life, without working for it.

"Bah, not another task to do..."

The other one works for it, and appreciate the opportunity.

"Oh... that's a good challenge!"

Like this line from Doris Day:

"Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty."

Another banger! Love this post, it epitomizes the fact that we have language that can either help or hinder us, and we get to choose that meaning. So empowering! 💥
